As we approach the colder months, we’re preparing for one of the busiest times of the year at Samaritan Community Center. Since opening our new facility in Rogers last year, we’ve seen an astounding 56% increase in the number of clients we serve. Families, individuals, and seniors in our community are facing greater challenges, and with the upcoming opening of our new facility in Springdale, we’re expecting similar growth in the number of neighbors who rely on us for groceries and support.
Winter brings more than just cold weather—it brings a greater need for food and assistance across our local neighborhoods. We see firsthand how families struggle to make ends meet, often choosing between keeping the heat on or putting food on the table. This is where we can step in and help, but we need your support to make it possible.
Our food pantries are a critical resource for many, but keeping our shelves stocked, especially with nutritious, non-perishable items, can be challenging. That's why we're asking you to consider hosting a food drive or donating canned goods to support our efforts. These donations are more than just cans of food—they are meals, comfort, and hope for a family in need.
How You Can Help: If you're able, organizing a food drive in your community, school, workplace, or church is a fantastic way to make a difference. Every can counts, and together we can ensure that no one in our community has to go hungry this winter. We’re particularly in need of protein-packed items like canned chicken, tuna, peanut butter, and beans, as well as hearty soups and vegetables.
If hosting a food drive isn’t an option, you can still make an impact! You can shop for us online through our Walmart Registry. By purchasing items directly from the registry, you’re helping us get exactly what we need to stock our shelves and provide balanced meals to those who rely on our services.
Your support means the world to us—and to the people we serve. Together, we can ensure that every neighbor who walks through our doors leaves with the food they need to thrive. Thank you for helping us make a difference this winter season!
Let’s stock those shelves and fill hearts with hope!
