Our Statement of Faith

Our statement of faith is the core foundation for our ministry as a faith-based nonprofit organization.

  • Scripture: We believe the Bible (both Old and New Testaments) is divinely inspired, and thus is the infallible, authoritative Word of God in all matters of faith and conduct.  (Psalms 119:160; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

  • God: We believe there is only one living and true God who is eternally existent in three distinct persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 4:39; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

  • Humanity: We believe God created all people in His image, which gives every person inherent value, equal dignity, and a divine purpose.  Yet we believe all people have fallen in sin, deserving God’s judgment and needing His redemption.  (Genesis 1: 26-27; Romans 3:23, 6:23; John 3:16-18)

  • Jesus: We believe in the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles and taught the words of God, atoned for our sin through His death, conquered death through His resurrection, ascended into heaven, and will return in power and glory.  (Isaiah 9:6-7; John 1:14-18; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Hebrews 2:17-18)

  • Salvation: We believe salvation is by God’s grace alone, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Only He redeems us from sin and reconciles us to God. (John 3:16; Galatians 3:26; Hebrews 10:10-12, Titus 3:3-6)

  • Church: We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ who together form one Church, diverse in form and expression, of which Christ is the Head. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-47; Ephesians 2:19-22)

  • Believer’s Conduct: We believe that salvation will result in righteous living and good works as the believer submits his life to the control of the Holy Spirit who directs the life of the believer in harmony with the Word of God. The follower of Jesus is called to live His Great Commandment to love God and others, and His Great Commission to make disciples of all nations. Samaritan Community Center pursues Jesus’ calling through its core values—"to do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God.” (John 16:4-15; Ephesians 1:13-14; Galatians 5:16-25; Matthew 22: 35-40, 28:18-20; Micah 6:8)
