Fresh produce grown for our client choice Market at our Farm next door

Samaritan Market

The Samaritan Market is a client-choice food pantry designed to empower our neighbors by allowing them to select the foods their families will use, rather than receiving pre-sorted bags. This personalized approach respects individual preferences and dietary needs, giving clients the dignity and autonomy to choose items that best suit their households. By creating a shopping experience similar to a grocery store, we ensure that families take home foods they know and trust.

Our market is enhanced by the fresh produce provided by the Samaritan Farm, which supplements our pantry with nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables. We are committed to providing healthy, wholesome foods, and our Farm's organic offerings play a crucial role in achieving that goal. Serving over 50,000 individuals each year, our markets allow clients to visit once a month for groceries, ensuring consistent access to nutritious foods that support their overall well-being.

How to Help

It costs approximately $12,000 per month for SCC to keep our markets stocked with enough food to meet even the minimum allotments that client families need. By hosting a food drive for the Samaritan Market through your school, neighborhood, church, organization, or business, you help us to keep our monthly food costs to a minimum which, in turn, allows us to focus on other areas of need.

For more information on how to host a food drive, please email our In-Kind Manager, Shannon Green, or call her at (479) 636-4198.

We are always in need of volunteers for both of our Market food pantries in Springdale and Rogers. The most critical current need is for volunteers to assist clients in shopping in our self-serve pantries during pantry hours listed above.

Working in a Samaritan Market is a wonderful and rewarding experience. All volunteers must be over the age of 18, to volunteer email volunteer@samcc.org.

“I love that we not only address a client’s physical needs, but we are always there to encourage and pray with them.”
