ROGERS, Arkansas, November 18, 2022 – Walmart Private Fleet is sponsoring the Samaritan Community Center’s (SCC) annual Thanksgiving community lunch on Tuesday, November 22, from 10:30am-12:30pm. The Thanksgiving meal will be held at SCC locations in Springdale, 1300 N. Thompson, and in Rogers, 1211 W. Hudson Road. This funding will help feed nearly 1,000 people and their families who are unable to afford a holiday meal at home. Samaritan Community Center is leading the way in providing free food to residents struggling with poverty in Northwest Arkansas.
“Thank you, Walmart, for helping Samaritan Community Center love on our Northwest Arkansas neighbors. With your partnership, we have been serving Thanksgiving meals for 10 years. We couldn’t do this without Walmart’s support and we love working with Walmart associates each year as they volunteer in the Samaritan Café,” said Shannon Green, SCC Business Development Manager.
“We will be donating $2,000 towards the Thanksgiving meal and our associates will be serving the meals through our Volunteerism Always Pays (VAP) program. The Walmart Private Fleet is well known for their charitable giving and volunteerism in the local communities. We have a high respect and strong standing relationship with the Samaritan Community Center. We always look forward to collaborating whenever we can,” said Ryan Wolfe, Senior Manager II, Supply Chain, Walmart Private Fleet.
