COVID-19 & Your Dental Care Needs

The team wants you to know we’re thinking of you. We want to share some of the things we have been working on here at Samaritan Dental Clinic and some of the changes you will see. We are installing medical-grade air purifiers that will help keep you and our team safe. We will be limiting the number of patients we see at one time to support social distancing.

You may also notice different masks and uniforms. We want to assure you we have the best sterilization protocols in place and are closely following the CDC and ADH (Arkansas Department of Health) recommendations.

Through these challenges, we have gained an even greater appreciation for you, our patients; and we are committed to keeping you safe while you are in our hands.

If you have missed an appointment during this time we will be contacting you soon to reschedule and inform you of our new protocols and instructions for attending your appointment.

We are not accepting new patients at this time. If you are experiencing pain or have a dental emergency please visit your local emergency room or medical walk in clinic. For more dental resources in our area please visit our resources page here.

If you received a phone call about rescheduling and have a set appointment, please print and complete the below forms and bring them to your appointment.

Free Dental Care Brings Back Smiles

If you’ve ever had a toothache and couldn’t get in to see a dentist right away, you now have a glimpse of the long-term pain many of our clients endure. The difference is, most insured adults are able to see a dentist within a day or two when there is an emergency while uninsured adults may wait months or even years living in pain. Our Samaritan Dental Clinic is here to help uninsured adults living within the Federal poverty level. We are the only full-service charitable dental clinic in Northwest Arkansas.

Serving uninsured adults who cannot afford to purchase dental care, our clinic utilizes both volunteer and staff dentists and hygienists to provide a full range of dental services to our patients.

Restorative Program

When a patient is initially scheduled in our clinic for the restorative program, they receive a comprehensive exam by our staff dentist who then develops an oral treatment plan specific to that patient’s needs. Follow-up appointments are then scheduled to complete restorative care, extractions, and cleanings as needed.

Extraction Clinic

Appointments for our extraction clinics are scheduled one month in advance. Once scheduled for an extraction appointment a patient will be seen by a volunteer dentist for an exam and x-ray. Treatment or services will be provided at the time of appointment. The purpose of extraction clinic is to determine if a tooth/teeth needs removal.

HOW TO HELP

Volunteer Professionals

Each year our clinic provides over $420,000 in free dental care to the NWA community. This would not be possible without a large number of volunteer dental professionals including dentists and hygienists.

Current volunteer needs in our Dental Clinic include:

  • Volunteer Dental Assistant with a current Arkansas Dental Assistant’s License
  • Volunteer Receptionist – must have dental office experience and knowledge of dental terminology.

There are volunteer opportunities for these two positions for both daytime and evening clinics. Hours may vary based on clinic days/times, and volunteer availability.

In-Kind Donations

Samaritan Dental Clinic is always in need of the following items:

  • Sensitive Teeth Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Dental Floss

Donations may be dropped off at the SCC Administration Offices
